NY Doggy Dad - Where your "doggy kids" are treated like family
Welcome to the home of NY Doggy Dad, a private daycare and overnight boarding service for dogs. I am passionately committed to dogs and their care, and maintain a place where you’ll be happy to bring your “doggy kids.”
NY Doggy Dad is owned & operated by me, Alfonso Sawadan, CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed). CPDT-KA represents the only international, standardized certification for animal training and behavior professionals. I am reviewed every three years, to ensure I remain up-to-date with the most current scientific landscape of canine behavior and training. Additionally, I am proud to provide dog care that is endorsed by Veterinarians, Behaviorists, and other leading animal care professionals.
Exclusively for smaller sized dogs, I am open daily from 7AM to 7PM. I aim to meet all of your (and your pet’s) needs, and happily offer pickup and drop-off service. Emergency long-term stays are easily set up for clients when needed. And I am conveniently located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan just off 86th Street. Here, your dog will enjoy a private home setup, cage free of course, with the company of good dogs, and fun afternoon walks in nearby Carl Schurz Park.

About the Owner
Unlike some pet daycare companies out there, this isn’t a "side" job for me, a career change from the corporate 9-to-5, or just a way to pay the bills: my entire professional life has been dedicated to the well-being of animals, and I’m proud of this distinction.
I began my career in 1990 as an apprentice dog trainer to Brian Kilcommons & Sarah Wilson at The Family Dog training center here in Manhattan's Upper West Side, served for three years as a supervisor at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital, and for 7+ years owned and operated the World Wide Kennel Club Canine College pet store here on the Upper East Side.
